etomidate

Etomidate is the ethyl ester of 1-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]-1H-imidazole-5-carboxylic acid. It is an intravenous general anaesthetic with no analgesic activity. It has a role as a sedative and an intravenous anaesthetic. It is an ethyl ester and a member of imidazoles. It is functionally related to a 1-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]-1H-imidazole-5-carboxylic acid.
